Thanet Food Bank
Thank you so much for all those who continue to give so generously to this food bank. With the church closed (except for private prayer on a Sunday morning)
I am happy for you to leave any donations in the vicarage porch. Thank you.
The Thanet Winter Shelter. I am still able to take gifts to the Salvation Army, who were very pleased with my last delivery. Men’s boxer shorts, medium size, shaving requisites, toiletries, hats, gloves, socks, gloves and individual sachets for hot drinks as coffee or chocolate are all needed. There is a box in the church porch and I will leave one outside 21 Fig Tree Road, Broadstairs. You can also leave items in the vicarage porch. Lockdown makes life very difficult, please put your own safety first. Only give if it is safe to do so. (junebinfield@outlook.com or 01843 861286 or 07711072233.)
The Wednesday House Group
The Wednesday House Group has reconvened and met on January 13th on Zoom. Our next meeting is on February 3rd and then we hope to meet weekly during Lent. On February 3rd Rev Alice (who is hosting) will open Zoom at 2 pm for prayers to be typed into Chat, as a basis for praying together later in the session. At 2.30 the session proper will begin (led by June Binfield), being a Bible study and reflection on Mark 6: 7-13, the Gospel passage set for that day. We will pray together and then have a chance to chat, catch up and share fellowship, finishing at 4pm. Everyone is welcome.
If you would like to join us, please contact Rev Alice: alicebates2@hotmail.com
The Monday House Group continues to meet weekly – obviously during social distancing, only via Zoom. Except for periods like Advent or Lent, for part of our time we reflect on the Bible readings which would normally have been heard in church on Sunday (and are printed on the pew sheet), and with them enjoy much fellowship and encouragement. We start at 2:30pm every Monday – if that day/time suits some people better, then we’d be delighted to welcome them. For further details including how to join please contact Revd Michael at 01843 863293 or mcooke.92@btinternet.com ]
