Please send items for the Pew Sheet and News Sheet to vicarpa@stpeterinthanet.org.uk before 12 noon on the Wednesday before the Sunday you would like them to be considered for inclusion. Thank you.
St Peter’s Toddlers – The last session before Summer closure is Thursday 14th July. Join us for a Summer party theme session. Party food is included in session fee. (Booking essential). St Peter’s Toddlers then returns on Thursday 8th September.
Canon Neville Emslie, Director of Mission and Ministry, will be preaching at the 9.30am Service on Sunday 17th July and will then host an open meeting in the main hall over coffee (and cake) to talk to the congregation about the impending interregnum, and to answer any questions you may have. Please do put this in your diary and come along. Rev Jan.
Broadstairs Folk Week – 5th – 12th August. From Pub to Pulpit, St Peters Church Hall, Tuesday 9th August, 2.00pm – 3.00pm, tickets £10.00. Visit www.broadstairsfolkweek.org.uk to book. From Pub to Pulpit brings to life the musical journey of folk songs Vaughan Williams collected before “borrowing” the tunes for hymn arrangements in The English Hymnal he edited in 1906.
Please note there will be no Children’s Church in August. The next one will take place on Sunday 4th September.
Thanet Food Link – Thank you so much for all those who give so generously to this food bank. The coordinator has said that they are desperately in need of desserts and tinned vegetables. Items can be left in Church on a Sunday 9.30am – 11.00am or Wednesday morning 10.00am – 12 noon, or dropped off at the Vicarage. Thank you, Rev Jan.
John Cox – Some of you will have noticed the absence of John Cox from the Service last Sunday. John has been a very hard working and loyal supporter of the Church for many, many years and was particularly helpful during the periods of interregnum. He and his family had to make the difficult decision to find a new situation for him. Now, in his 92nd year, he has been finding that coping alone in his own home has become too trying. He will greatly miss his friends and life in St Peter’s but has found a vacancy in Herne Place (2 Parkland Road, Herne Bay, CT6 5DN) where all his needs will be catered for. I’m sure that you would all like to wish him peace and every happiness in his new home there. Sue Barker.
Missing – Can you help to be the ears and eyes of our Church family? Do you care about those around you? If the answer is yes, then next time you’re in Church look around you. If a familiar face has been missing for some weeks do something about it, make enquiries, make a phone call mention it to someone – THIS IS NOT BEING NOSEY but showing concern for our Church family. Next time it could be you missing from that pew – I WONDER IF ANYONE WOULD CARE?
Face Coverings – The wearing of face coverings is a personal choice; it is entirely up to you whether you wear one or not. The Priest and Chalice Assistants distributing the Communion wine and wafers will continue to wear them at the distribution, and those leading the Service will continue to sanitize their hands where appropriate.
Mobile phones – Please ensure all mobile phones are switched off during the Service (not just put on silent mode) to prevent them from interfering with the sound system. Thank you.
Photographs – Please do not take photos during the Service. If you want to take them after the Service has finished, please ensure you only take a picture of your own child or family member. Please obtain permission from anyone else before you take their photo. Thank you.
We are always SO grateful for the cash donations given each week at Services. If you are a taxpayer it would be an even greater benefit if you could put your donation in a completed yellow Gift Aid envelope so that we can recover the extra 25p in every pound given!
| We are now able to accept debit/credit card donations. If you are a taxpayer and can Gift Aid your donation, please complete a yellow envelope with your details and hand this to the person operating the card reader. Thank you! |
If you are Chair of one of our Church Committees and have a meeting coming up, please remember to forward details to vicarpa@stpeterinthanet.org.uk so that they can be included in the Pew Sheet or News Sheet.
First Aid Box – There is a first aid box located in the cupboard by the South Door.
