Zoom Coffee and Chat
With Lockdown still upon us and restrictions placed on our going out and meeting people, I know many of you are missing ‘seeing’ people, so I would like to invite you to a weekly zoom ‘coffee and chat’ for half an hour on a Monday morning at 11:30 and a Thursday afternoon at 3pm. Please provide your own tea or coffee and then spend time catching up with friends. All are welcome, please email revjandurrans@gmail.com if you would like to join us, and I will then email you the link. Rev Jan (and Rev Alice).
The Thanet Winter Shelter. I am still able to take gifts to the Salvation Army, who were very pleased with my last delivery. Men’s boxer shorts, medium size, shaving requisites, toiletries, hats, gloves, socks, gloves and individual sachets for hot drinks as coffee or chocolate are all needed. There is a box in the church porch and I will leave one outside 21 Fig Tree Road, Broadstairs. You can also leave items in the vicarage porch. Lockdown makes life very difficult, please put your own safety first. Only give if it is safe to do so. (junebinfield@outlook.com or 01843 861286 or 07711072233.)
The Wednesday House Group
The Wednesday Home Group will meet in Lent to follow Live Lent-God’s Story, Our Story. This will be via zoom meeting; 2.30 pm for the course; 2pm to join and post private prayer. Details re using zoom from Rev Alice, curate@stpeterinthanet.org.uk Using prayer, scripture, reflection and discussion, listening carefully to each other, we will explore how God’s Story relates to our own stories of faith, difficulties and blessings and to the challenging times we are living through. All are welcome to join us. (Contact: June Binfield, junebinfield@outlook.com or 01843 861286).
The Monday House Group continues to meet weekly – obviously during social distancing, only via Zoom. Except for periods like Advent or Lent, for part of our time we reflect on the Bible readings which would normally have been heard in church on Sunday (and are printed on the pew sheet), and with them enjoy much fellowship and encouragement. We start at 2:30pm every Monday – if that day/time suits some people better, then we’d be delighted to welcome them. For further details including how to join please contact Rev. Michael at 01843 863293 or mcooke.92@btinternet.com

Thanet Food Bank
Thank you so much for all those who continue to give so generously to this food bank. With the church closed (except for private prayer on a Sunday morning 10am – 11am), I am happy for you to leave any donations in the vicarage porch, if you are not able to come on a Sunday. Thank you.
