When you come into church on a Sunday or a Wednesday, if you have a smartphone, you will be able to scan the QR code on the poster displayed in the south porch and by the 1832 door. This logs your attendance in our church premises directly with the NHS Test and Trace. You will need to download the nhscovid-19 app on to your phone to enable this to work. Those without smartphones will still need to provide their contact details as before.
This QR code will also be displayed in the Halls complex so that those visiting the halls can also make use of this facility.
Can I also remind you all to wear a face covering when coming into church and into the halls complex and the office.
ANNUAL PAROCHIAL MEETING
The Annual Meeting for St Peter’s church will take place in church on Sunday 18th October after the main 9:30 service at 11am. This is a meeting of those whose names are on the Civil Electoral Roll of the civil parish and/or those whose names are on the Electoral Roll of the Parish Church. Anyone on either of these rolls can attend and vote. At this meeting, we will elect our two Churchwardens for the next year.
This will be followed by the ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING (APCM) at which we need to appoint 9 more members of the Parochial Church Council and two members of Deanery Synod.
All lay persons whose names are on the Electoral Roll of the Parish Church shall be entitled to attend this meeting, and no other person shall be so entitled. A Clerk in Holy Orders shall be entitled to attend and take part in the proceedings if s/he is licensed to the parish, resident in the parish, or is a habitual worshipper in the parish.
Please do consider standing for one of these posts – but each nomination must have a proposer and a seconder please. The necessary forms can be found by the South Porch. If you have any questions do please ask me.
The Agendas for both meetings along with the reports for the APCM, are available from the parish office, (phone 01843 866061) or can be collected from church (by the South porch). Please do take the time to read them all.
Thank you all
Rev Jan
