The Thanet Winter Shelter. I was able to take a great number of wonderful items over the last two weeks including Colouring / Puzzle books, duvets, duvet covers, pillow cases, single sheets, scarves, socks, gloves, hats, toiletries and clothing. Thank you all very much. Please continue to give any of these or cleaning materials. The Shelter is off to a good start. June. (junebinfield@outlook.com.)
Samaritan’s Purse/ Operation Christmas Child Thank you to those who have contributed to the Operation Christmas Child Campaign. This is an international event enabling children to hear the good news of Jesus Christ as well as receiving a special gift from a friend. 33 Shoe Boxes from you together with many others are on a special journey to Eastern Europe. Thank you, Mary Wood.

Contact Marion Brown, Tel 604524, email marion.biggs@gmail.com. Thank you.

Fundraising Committee Report for Sunday 9th December 2018
2019 Fund Raising Events
Our first event for the New Year will be another Boot Fair on Saturday 26th January 2019. We are also planning a ‘Tea and Beetle Drive’ for 7th February (although this is still provisional), another Boot Fair on 23rd March and, in the following months, there will be Quiz Nights, a Barn Dance, a Fashion Show and, hopefully, some really first class music events. Just watch out for this item in future news sheets to find out what, when and where these events will take place.
2018 was a very good year for fundraising and it’s my fervent hope and prayer that we can do as well next year. However, everything depends on the support that we get, both from within the Church community itself and outside it so; anything you can do to help will be more than welcome.
When you shop on line -don’t forget to use this facility. In the last few months we have raised over £200!
When buying Christmas presents e.g. Books, travel, hotels, food, presents, household items etc. etc. This is at no cost to you, but a % of the cost of your purchase could be benefiting St Peter’s Church. Some are already doing this, which is great. To ensure you cover approx. 90% of all retailers, please register with the following two (very reputable!) websites:
- www.easyfunding.org.uk and when asked, the charity you want to support is: St Peter-in-Thanet Church Broadstairs.
- www.giveasyoulive.com and when asked, the charity you want to support is: The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of St Peter-in-Thanet.
Once you have registered (a very simple job), please then don’t forget to open the sites first before you make any purchase and the site will then automatically donate to St Peter’s -easy!
We now have over 20 in the Church who are registered already, so let’s see if we can at least double this number (and our income from it) soon!

We are always SO grateful for the cash donations given each week at services.
If you are a tax payer it would be an even greater benefit if you could put your donation in a completed yellow Gift Aid envelope so that we can recover the extra 25p on every pound given!
