Fabric matters
The PCC have applied for a faculty to put a second handrail on the steps leading to the north door in church. Full details of this application are available in the Parish office, and notices are on the notice boards in Church and outside the Parish office. Any objections should be sent to the registrar in writing at the address stated on the notices.
Monday @7
Our next event is on Monday 17th February, 12.30 for 1pm, for lunch at the Racing Greyhound, Ramsgate. If you have not already contacted me, I need to know ASAP if you are coming, or not, and your Menu choices. I have to pre order our food, which needs to be done shortly. Any queries, contact Marion Brown, Tel 604524, email marion.biggs@gmail.com. Thank you.
The Winter Shelter.
Thank you for your wonderful support so far. The shelter continues through February and March offering accommodation and welfare services and helping to rebuild damaged lives. Please give new socks, new underwear, rucksacks, toiletries both male and female and feminine hygiene items. I will also collect cleaning materials to help the churches who provide the accommodation. Please leave your donations in the Church or in the Parish Office. Contact: June Binfield junebinfield@outlook.com / 01843 861286 / 07711 072233.
Charity coffee pod & crisp packet recycling
I will be collecting crisp packets and Tassimo coffee pods in aid of the Kent air ambulance. They can be given to me at church service or I will leave a box for them to be placed in which will be located in the children’s corner. So far we have collected 600 coffee pods and 1600 crisps packets which have been sent off to raise funds for the air ambulance. Thank you from Toni Lawrence.
Fundraising Committee Report for Sunday 2nd February 2020
Boot Fair – Saturday 15th February
The next Boot fair will take place on Saturday 15th February in the Community Hall. We have already had some enquiries from potential table holders but, if you would like to hire one, or you know someone who might be interested, please book up by contacting the Parish office in Hopeville Avenue or call on 01843 866061, or encourage other interested parties to do so (the office is open and available to take phone calls between 9.00am and 1.00pm on weekdays). Tables are charged at £10.00 each and tea/coffee and bacon rolls will be available. Hope we see you there.
Beetle Drive
On Friday 21st February at 2.30 pm we have arranged a Beetle Drive, which should appeal to both adults and children. What is a Beetle Drive? I had to ask that question when the idea was first mooted, but it is a game involving building a Beetle (not a real one I hasten to add) using paper, pencils and a dice. Tickets will be £5.00 each for adults and £3.00 for children and can be obtained from the Parish Office in Hopeville Avenue (see above). There will also be a raffle and modest prizes for the winning teams so, if you care to try driving a Beetle or two, buy some tickets and come along!
Talk – ‘Round the World in a Double Decker Bus’
On Thursday 12th March (2.00pm to 4.30pm) we have arranged a talk in the Main Hall by Richard King. In the early ‘70s he and a group of friends bought an old double-decker bus, fitted it out, and drove it round the world! He now tells of his experiences in a very interesting talk and he is coming to St. Peter’s in March to deliver it for us. The event will take place in the Community Hall and Afternoon Tea, with sandwiches and cake, will be served as part of the event. Tickets are available at £10.00 each and can be bought at the Parish Office (details above). The talk is both fascinating and hilarious so note the date in your diary, tell your friends about it and come along.
Monday Home Group 2:30 pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, CT10 1RL
We meet weekly to share in some of the glories and encouragement contained within the Bible Readings heard in Church the previous day. You’d be most welcome – even for a one-off – there’s no obligation to have to say anything! After the hour of reflection, sometimes also drawing also on art or music, we then enjoy tea and fellowship. For more details, please phone Michael or Elspeth Cooke on 863293.
The Wednesday Home Group.
We will meet again on Wednesday, 5th February at 2.30 pm at St. Leu. Irving will be continuing our study of the early books of the Old Testament. All are welcome. Contact: June Binfield. junebinfield@outlook.com or 01843 861286 or 07711 072233

We are always SO grateful for the cash donations given each week at services. If you are a tax payer it would be an even greater benefit if you could put your donation in a completed yellow Gift Aid envelope so that we can recover the extra 25p in every pound given!
