Christian Aid Collection and Plant Stall: The Christian Aid
collection in church raised £593.70 and the plant stall raised
the splendid total of £560.00 so despite Covid restrictions we
still managed to raise £1153.70 in total (with a further £91.25
tax reclaimable through Gift Aid). Many thanks to those who contributed in any
way to this very worthwhile total. A special thank you to those who donated plants
and helped on the day of the stall. Elspeth Cooke
Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM): St Peter’s Church ANNUAL MEETING
will take place on Sunday 20th June at 10.45 am. The meeting is for those whose
names are on the Civil Electoral Roll of the civil parish and/or those whose names
are on the Electoral Roll of the Parish Church. Anyone on either of these rolls can
attend and vote. At this meeting, we will elect our two Churchwardens for the
following year, followed by the APCM, where we will appoint four members of the
Parochial Church Council. Please consider standing for one of these posts. Each
nomination must have a proposer and a seconder. Forms and further information
are available in the church or from the parish office. We will also appoint our
sidesmen and our Independent Examiner (who keeps an eye on our accounts). All
laypersons whose names are on the Electoral Roll of the Parish Church shall be
entitled to attend this meeting, and no other person shall be so allowed. A Clerk in
Holy Orders shall be entitled to participate in and take part in the proceedings if
they are licensed to the parish, resident in the parish, or is a habitual worshipper
in the parish. Agendas and reports will be available nearer the time. If you would
like them emailed to you contact Robin Page treasurer@stpeterinthanet.org.uk.
The report of the Trustees and Financial Statements will also be available. Please
do take the time to read them. Revd. Jan, Vicar.
Electoral Roll Due to the APCM being moved to Sunday 20th June 2021, the
Electoral Roll for St. Peter’s Church commenced on Sunday 22nd May 2021 and will
be completed by Saturday 5th June 2021. After that date, no other names can be
added to the Roll until after the APCM on Sunday 20th June 2021. An official notice
will be displayed in the South Porch, a copy of the existing Roll will be available for
inspection in the church alongside forms for those wishing to join the Electoral Roll.
Please ask Pauline Osborne when you come into the church, and she can check for
you. If your name is on the current Roll and you wish to remain on it, you need to
take no further action. Gill Horne, Electoral Roll Officer.

Zoom Coffee and Chat Meet on a Monday morning at 11.30am for half an hour.
Have your cup of tea or coffee ready, and then we will spend time catching up with
friends. Join Rev Alice by emailing curate@stpeterinthanet.org.uk, and she will
send you the link.
Thanet Food Link Despite the enormous generosity of so many of you, the stocks at Thanet Food Link are running low. They are short of the following TINNED items: vegetables, desserts, hot dogs, cereal, tea & coffee, one-litre juice. Any donations of the above or any other non-perishable items would be very much appreciated. If every member of the congregation just added one tin to their weekly food shop and donated it to the Food Link, it would make an enormous difference to so many families who are struggling at the moment. You can drop donations at St. Peter’s Church 10:30am to 12pm Friday, Sunday or Wednesday morning, 9.30am-11am.
Please do add the parishoffice@stpeterinthanet.org.uk email address to your contacts book to reduce the risk of church news and correspondence ending up in your junk mail.
