Many, many thanks to all who generously contributed Christmas items for our stall at the Festive Fayre. We raised a very pleasing amount towards the Church funds and now seems an ideal time, as you sort out your own decorations, to appeal for any unwanted bits and pieces in readiness for this year’s Fayre. I would be grateful for any surplus items or unwanted presents. I’ll be happy to collect them either from the Parish Office or directly from you if necessary. Thank you. Sue Barker – 07887 361249.
The Christmas Tree Festival, including a Saturday evening concert with David Lammler playing Christmas melodies and carols on the organ, took place in December and after deduction of expenses, about £800 in all was raised towards the upkeep of the Church. A full report will be in the Parish Magazine, including photos, but meanwhile many thanks to everyone who gave their time to make this event such a success. Pauline Osborne.
The collections raised at our Carol Concert were such a success that we were able to send £150 each to Thanet Winter Shelter and to Thanet Food Link. People’s generosity is hugely appreciated at this critical time of year. Our thanks to everyone involved. Robin Page, Treasurer.
The collection given at the Christingle Service on 24th December raised the welcome sum of £183.51, enabling us to send off £185 to The Children’s Society. Our thanks to everyone who gave so generously. Robin Page, Treasurer.
Thank you to all those who supported our very own St Peter’s Toddler Group which was nominated in ASDA Broadstairs for the Green Token Scheme. The results are to follow. Many thanks, St Peter’s Toddlers. St Peter’s Toddler Group returns on Thursday 5th January 2023.

Thanet Food Link – Thank you so much for all those who give so generously to this food bank. The coordinator has said that they are desperately in need of desserts and tinned vegetables. Items can be left in Church on a Sunday 9.30am – 11.00am or Wednesday morning 10.00am – 12 noon. Thank you.
The Homeless – Thank you for your gifts. I am collecting warm gloves, scarves, hats, socks and any thermal garments which I give to The Salvation Army, who are helping large numbers of homeless who are sleeping rough on the streets. There is a box in the Church Porch. (Please do NOT give large items like suitcases which I cannot donate). Thank you for your kindness, June Binfield, junebinfield@outlook.com or (01843) 861286 or 07711 072233.
Missing – Can you help to be the ears and eyes of our Church family? Do you care about those around you? If the answer is yes, then next time you’re in Church look around you. If a familiar face has been missing for some weeks do something about it, make enquiries, make a phone call mention it to someone – THIS IS NOT BEING NOSEY but showing concern for our Church family. Next time it could be you missing from that pew.
Photographs – Please do not take photos during the service. If you want to take them after the service has finished, please ensure you only take a picture of your own child or family member. Please obtain permission from anyone else before you take their photo. Thank you.
If you are Chair of one of our Church Committees and have a meeting coming up, please remember to forward details to vicarpa@stpeterinthanet.org.uk so that the details can be included in the Pew Sheet or News Sheet.
