EMERGENCY EVACUATION POINT
The Emergency Evacuation Point is situated in the Co-op Car Park on Hopeville Avenue. We ask all persons responsible for hiring or using the building to ensure that their guests are advised of the Emergency Evacuation Point and that after evacuation everyone should make their way there in order that the person responsible can take a Register/Roll call.
FIRE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
We expect the hirer responsible for the booking to take off any security bars (if applicable) from the Fire Exit Doors at the start of hire and replace them for security at the end of hire. Hirers should ensure they adhere to the terms and conditions relating to fire and health and safety risks, i.e. no candles, sparklers, etc. (hirers should read these terms carefully) before hire goes ahead.
REGISTER/ROLL CALL
To ensure the safety of persons using the Community Hall buildings, we ask that the person responsible for booking the Portland Centre or Mulberry Room make some form of List/Register of persons attending their event to use as an Emergency Evacuation Roll Call/Register if an emergency situation was to arise. The person responsible for hire should also advise their guests verbally at the beginning of hire of where the fire exits are situated and where the Fire Evacuation Point is. The persons responsible for the booking should also ensure their guests understand that. in the event of an emergency evacuation, no guest must leave the Emergency Evacuation Point until they are advised it is safe to do so and they have been ticked off on the Register/Roll Call.
