St Peter’s Lunch Club

Recent News

St. Peter’s Lunch Club has been in existence for over 25 years and is run by a first-class team of cooks and helpers, all volunteers and around 40 in total.  A hot home cooked two course meal is provided for a modest sum, each Monday throughout the year except for Bank Holidays and a break during August and at Christmas.

The diners support a charity of their choice each year, making voluntary contributions weekly which are then presented to a representative.

Our Club is open to anyone over 60 who lives in the Village or Parish of St. Peter’s and can join us on a regular basis each Monday at 1.00 p.m.  All are made welcome.  If you require any further information please contact Doreen Wales on Thanet 868646.

Exciting news today at the Monday lunch club when it was announced that Jan Simpson has very kindly offered to take on another Monday which means our Diners will now have 4 dining sessions a month (with the exception of when we have Bank holidays), this news was very welcome and a big thank you to Jan, now all we need to do is to find her a band of helpers, we have already had the offer of help from Eric Millett, who will be on the team with Jan on Monday 27th January, so a big thank you and welcome to Eric, any other willing helpers out there?

Over forty diners attended the Monday Lunch Club’s Christmas Lunch, they were treated to a glass of sherry, one or two glasses of wine before a Christmas Lunch of roast turkey with all the trimmings, followed by mince pies and custard whilst being serenaded by a well known local pianist!
All the diners were handed a present and they thanked the cooks for a delicious lunch. A happy time had by all!
