Regular Services at St Peters
Notes and Timings on the Services Offered
Monday – Friday: 8.30 am: Morning Prayer
Monday: 5.00 pm: Evening Prayer
These normally last 15-20 mins and are held in the intimacy of the St James’s Chapel in the Church
Wednesday: 10.00 am: Eucharist (said)
The 8.00am Holy Communion service includes a short address and lasts for about 35 minutes, following the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer.
The 9.30 Parish Eucharist is our principal service and is in contemporary language. Hymns and music are led by the choir. There is a sermon preached by one of the ministers. Prayers and readings are led by members of the congregation. The service lasts about an hour and there is a chance to meet over coffee in the Church afterwards.
At 6.30pm on the second and last Sunday evening we have Choral Evensong*. As well as hymns the choir sings a mix of contemporary and traditional music. There is a short sermon. The service follows the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer and lasts about 50 minutes.
At 6.30pm on the third Sunday we have a Taizé Service*.
