On Wednesday 8th April at 6.30 pm we will be holding a Seder Meal (Passover Supper) in the main hall. During this meal we will participate in history’s most ancient and continually observed festival. We shall participate in the Exodus from Egypt and we will recall that Jesus observed Passover with his disciples on the night before he died. You are all most welcome. There is no charge (donation plate instead) but we do need numbers by the 1st April. Please sign the sheet in the office or contact Sylvia Mills (01843 865874).
Mothering Sunday posies
Donations towards the cost of the flowers for the Mothering Sunday posies would be greatly appreciated and can be given to me in church or left in the office. Each year we make about 120 which requires quite a few flowers. Any greenery you can spare, especially rosemary, preferably small leafed, should be left in the flower vestry on Friday 20th. Thank you. Pauline Osborne.
Help needed please
There are a number of painting jobs which need doing this summer as follows:
Painting the bench by the war memorial, painting the railings by the 1832 door and around the Garden of Remembrance, and treating the church doors. All materials will be provided. Please see Richard or Don if you can help. Thank you Richard.
The Winter Shelter.
Thank you all for your support over the winter months which has made a great difference to the homeless who use the shelter. I will be collecting on 15th and 22nd March. Please give any of the usual things. The Winter Shelter will close until the autumn on 30th March. All your gifts have been greatly appreciated. Fantastic St. Peter’s! Contact: June Binfield / 01843 861286 / 07711 072233.
Health and Wellbeing on Thursday 26th March 7 – 7:30pm at Holy Trinity Margate is open to everyone as we will be looking at Health and Wellbeing with presentations from Anna Chaplaincy, parish nursing, Cheerful Sparrows, prayer care and Neville Emslie. All welcome.
Our next event is on Wednesday, 15th April, meeting at 2pm at The Guildhall, Sandwich. We are having a guided tour, which costs £5 per person. Please let me know whether or not you are coming, as I have to give numbers shortly. Any queries to Marion Brown, Tel 604524, email . Thank you.
What will you be doing on Sunday 7th June 2020?
I hope that at least some of you will be visiting our THIRD OPEN GARDENS event…
Thanks to the generosity of all you lovely gardeners and attendees so far we have raised over £2,000 from the 2018 and 2019 Open Gardens. We estimate that around eight hundred visitors have enjoyed the gardens over the last two years and we would so love to build on this success.
So once again I am appealing for anyone who would like to share their garden and who lives within St Peter’s village to get in touch with me.
The commitment would only be to open from 1pm to 5 pm on Sunday 7th June 2020. Help with stewarding on the day will be available if required, and publicity and signage will be provided. Please consider if you can help us. We need a minimum of six gardens to make the event viable. THANK YOU If you want to know more or are able to help, please contact me by phone or e mail, or see me at church. Sue Brooks, phone 01843 604700 (answerphone always available) email

Charity coffee pod & crisp packet recycling
I will be collecting crisp packets and Tassimo coffee pods in aid of the Kent air ambulance. They can be given to me at church service or I will leave a box for them to be placed in which will be located in the children’s corner. So far we have collected 600 coffee pods and 1600 crisps packets which have been sent off to raise funds for the air ambulance. Thank you from Toni Lawrence.

Monday Home Group 2:30 pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, CT10 1RL
Each week during Lent, we are exploring both what we can learn from one of the women mentioned in the Bible – we’ll draw also on inspiration from related art and music – and a thought for the week from Ruth Valerio’s excellent book “Say Yes to Life”. You’d be most welcome to join us – even for a one-off – there’s no obligation to have to say anything! After the hour of reflection, we then enjoy tea and fellowship. For more details, please phone Michael or Elspeth Cooke on 863293.
The Wednesday Home Group
Each Wednesday in Lent meeting at St. Leu at 2.30 pm. We are following the Lent course Saying Yes to Life by Ruth Valerio, which looks at God as Creator and Redeemer, encouraging us to respond as carers of God’s World and as followers of Jesus to the Creation and to the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of our Saviour. Please bring a Bible. It is not essential to buy the book but if you wish to, it is available on Amazon. All are welcome on all or any of these Wednesdays.
