Card Making

The amount raised by the sale of cards this year is £639.35. Thanks to the dedicated team of card makers, those who supply us with card fronts and cellophane.

It has turned into a real community effort. I have enjoyed leading and setting up the project which I am pleased to say runs itself. Due to my potential ongoing health problems I will not be able to continue the work into the New Year. Rev Jan has offered the use of her home for the monthly meetings and Don thinks the raw materials can be stored under the stage. All that is needed is a leader and another team member.

Please note that we will not be collecting Christmas card fronts this year as the stock is still high. With grateful thanks, Jan Gee.

Charity coffee pod & crisp packet recycling

I will be collecting crisp packets and Tassimo coffee pods in aid of the Kent air ambulance. They can be given to me at church service or I will leave a box for them to be placed in which will be located in the children’s corner. So far we have collected 600 coffee pods and 1600 crisps packets which have been sent off to raise funds for the air ambulance. Thank you from Toni Lawrence.

The Winter Shelter

Carl from the Salvation Army is very grateful for your generous gifts and he says the Shelter is going well. Please give new socks, new underwear, clothes such as coats, jeans, T-shirts and jumpers. Gloves and hats are also welcome. Please leave your donations in the Church or in the Parish office. I will suggest different items from time to time. Thank you, June Binfield.  / 01843 861286 / 07711 072233.

Fundraising Committee Report for Sunday 22nd December 2019

Boot Fair

The next Fundraising event (and the first for 2020) will be a Boot Fair on Saturday 18th January. Anyone wishing to book a Table should contact the Parish office in Hopeville Avenue or call on 01843 866061. Please note that the office is only open and available to take phone calls between 9.00am and 1.00pm on weekdays. Tables are not considered to be reserved until the £10.00 fee has been paid.

Raffle Prizes

Our stocks of raffle prizes are severely diminished due to the Christmas Fayre and other events, and we very badly need more, because we have several events planned for the first part of 2020 which will involve a raffle. If you have anything that you don’t want or need, please consider donating it to the church. It is often surprising just how much raffles can raise, so nothing you donate will go to waste.

Monday Home Group 2:30 pm at 3 Elizabeth Court, North Foreland Road, CT10 1EW

After a Christmas break, we resume our weekly meetings on January 6th (the Epiphany), when through art, music and few words we’ll be reflecting on the last of our seasonal themes – “Christian Joy”.  If you are looking for a time of refreshment after the busy and family season, do come and join us, even for a one-off – you’d be most welcome!  After the hour of reflection, we then enjoy tea and fellowship.  For more details, please phone Michael or Elspeth Cooke on 863293.

The Wednesday Home Group.

I will notify you of our next meeting which will be in 2020. Contact: June Binfield,  or 07711 072233 or 01843 861286.

We are always SO grateful for the cash donations given each week at services. If you are a tax payer it would be an even greater benefit if you could put your donation in a completed yellow Gift Aid envelope so that we can recover the extra 25p in every pound given!
