House-to-house Collection 12-18 May
Thank you so much to those who have already volunteered for this vital task which can really make a difference to the lives of some of the world’s poorest communities. We do, however, only cover a very few streets and urgently need new volunteers. Please give prayerful thought to being part of this year’s team. If you would like to help, please sign up on the list near the south door of the church. Many thanks. Elspeth Cooke (863293)
Enquiring about the Christian Faith For those of you who are thinking about getting confirmed, or those who are already, but want to learn more about the Christian faith. The sessions will be held at the vicarage on Wednesday evening at 7pm on the 8th and 15th of May, 12th and 19th June, and 3rd and 31st July. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATES. Please have a word with me if you are interested. Thank you, Rev’d Jan (01843 869169).
Monday @7: Our next event is on Monday 13th May, at 2.30pm, at the Walpole Bay Hotel at Cliftonville. We will be having a talk by the owner of the hotel, followed by afternoon tea. The Croquet evening planned for June has had to be cancelled, due to insufficient numbers. Any queries contact me, Marion Brown, Tel 604524, email . Thank you.
Archdeacon’s Visitation. The Visitation service, at which our two Churchwardens are sworn in for the coming year, will take place at Canterbury Cathedral on Wednesday 22nd May at 7.30 pm. This service is open to all, especially to those who have designated roles in the church, and it is hoped that some members of our congregation will also be there to show their support for Sylvia and Pauline.
Fundraising Committee Report for Sunday 28th April 2019
Boot Fair – 27th April
A report about this Saturday’s Boot Fair will appear in next week’s newssheet.
Barn Dance – Saturday 18th May
Tickets for the Barn Dance are now available. They are only £7.50 each and there will be a professional caller so, if you like a bit of dancing, come along, kick up your heels and have a great time! Even if you think your dancing days are over, why not come along just to enjoy the atmosphere and tap your feet to some Western-style music. Tell your friends, bring along your own drinks and nibbles and enjoy a lovely evening. Hope we will see you there!
Railway Swing Band – Wednesday 26th June
The Railway Swing Band is coming! They will be performing in the Community Hall on Wednesday 26th June, so don’t forget to note the date in your diary. The concert starts at 7.30pm and runs until 10.00pm, with a short interval during which refreshments, including wine, will be available. Tickets will be £10.00 each. It is important for the church that this event be as big a success as possible and we are hoping to sell every seat in the hall, so please encourage everyone you know to buy a ticket. The band is terrific with 30 plus musicians and a couple of singers and it is a real treat for anyone who likes ‘swing’ music from the forties and fifties, so please come along if you can.
Incidentally, we will need a lot of helpers (the more the better) when the Swing Band comes to St. Peter’s. There will be more details later but, if you can help out on that evening, please let us know.
The Monday Home Group – 92 Dumpton Park Drive, Broadstairs

We are always SO grateful for the cash donations given each week at services. If you are a tax payer it would be an even greater benefit if you could put your donation in a completed yellow Gift Aid envelope so that we can recover the extra 25p in every pound given!
