Please help with the House-to house Collection during Christian Aid Week 12-18 May

It would be wonderful if you could help with this year’s Christian Aid Week house-to-house collection. There are many streets in the parish which we do not cover, so any help in collecting from just a few houses is greatly valued.  Please give prayerful consideration to volunteering.  There is a sign-up list near the south door of the church or have a word with me for more information about what is involved. Elspeth Cooke (863293).

Volunteers wanted.  I am trying to gather together a list of people who would be willing to help transport Wendy Parsons over to Canterbury hospital to visit her husband John. If this is something you feel you could help with please contact me. Don Bumpstead. Tel 01843 602287.

Enquiring about the Christian Faith For those of you who are thinking about getting confirmed, or those who are already, but want to learn more about the Christian faith. The sessions will be held at the vicarage on Wednesday evening at 7pm on the 8th and 15th of May, 12th and 19th June, and 3rd and 31st July. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATES. Please have a word with me if you are interested. Thank you, Rev’d Jan (01843 869169).

Monday @7: Our next event is on Monday 13th May, at 2.30pm, for afternoon tea at the Walpole Bay Hotel, together with a talk by the owner.  Any queries, contact Marion Brown, Tel 604524, email: . Thank you.

Thank you so very much to everyone who has donated sugar to help me with the jam making etc. for the church.  It is all very much appreciated.  Marion Brown.

Archdeacon’s Visitation. The Visitation service, at which our two Churchwardens are sworn in for the coming year, will take place at Canterbury Cathedral on Wednesday 22nd May at 7.30 pm. This service is open to all, especially to those who have designated roles in the church, and it is hoped that some members of our congregation will also be there to show their support for Sylvia and Pauline.

Fundraising Committee Report for Sunday 21st April 2019

Boot Fair – 27th April

We have some tables left for the Boot Fair on 27th April and, if you would like to hire one, you can book at the Parish Office or call on 01843 866061. Equally, if you have any friends or neighbours who might like a table, please let them know. Tables are only £10.00 each and refreshments (bacon rolls and drinks) will be available too. Hope to hear from you soon.

Barn Dance – Saturday 18th May

Arrangements for Saturday 18th May’s Barn Dance are now well under way and tickets, priced at only £7.50 each, can now be bought at the Parish office or booked by calling 01843 866061. There will be a professional ‘caller’ and it should be a great evening, so why not come along and kick up your heels, Western style!

Railway Swing Band – Wednesday 26th June

Don’t forget that the Railway Swing Band will be appearing in the Community Hall on Wednesday 26th June so, if you like ‘Swing’ music or just like to hear an excellent band, mark the date in your diary. More details later.

Incidentally, we will need a lot of helpers (the more the better) when the Swing Band comes to St. Peter’s. There will be more details later but, if you can help out on that evening, please let us know.

The Monday Home Group – 92 Dumpton Park Drive, Broadstairs

We are always SO grateful for the cash donations given each week at services. If you are a tax payer it would be an even greater benefit if you could put your donation in a completed yellow Gift Aid envelope so that we can recover the extra 25p in every pound given!
