Fundraising Committee Report for Sunday 3 rd February 2019
Indoor Boot Fair – 26th January 2019
The boot fair held on 26th January made a profit (before expenses) for the church of £376.45. All possible thanks to everyone who helped out on that day, whether serving refreshments, minding the entrance door (whilst accepting donations from the grateful punters) or serving at the church’s own table in the main hall. These events simply could not take place without the willing help of volunteers so, once again, thanks to you all.
Tea and Beetle Drive
The Beetle Drive posters are now in the windows of the Parish office and flyers have been left on all the tables in the foyer of the hall for anyone to pick up. The event is also on our Facebook page, which is attracting more and more attention, and more posters are in the hands of Broadstairs council. They will (hopefully) appear on their public notice boards very soon. If you would like to come along on Tuesday 19th February, or to bring your family, it’s only £5.00 per adult and £3.00 per child. However, tickets must be purchased in advance – they will not be available ‘on the door’ otherwise we can’t judge how much cake we’ll need! The event starts at 2.30pm and ends at 4.30pm so, if you would like an afternoon of fun, please come along.
Indoor Boot Fair
On 23rd March – guess what – we’re running another boot fair! As usual, tables will be £10.00 each and the fair will run from 9.00am to 12 noon. If you would like a table, pop into the Parish office and book one. More about this next week.
Raffle Prizes
Thanks to the many benevolent people have donated prizes, but we can always use more so, if you have anything at home that you don’t want, please bring it in so that it can grace our raffle prize table at the Beetle Drive and other events. Prizes suitable for children will be especially welcome.
Monday Home Group We reflect in music and word on the Bible readings heard in church the previous day. Meeting at 2:30pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, we welcome anyone who’d like to come, even as a one off: we finish at around 4pm with tea and biscuits. If you’d like to know more, please do phone us on 863293. Michael & Elspeth Cooke.
The Wednesday Home Group. We will meet on Wednesday, February 6th at St.Leu. Everyone is welcome. For this meeting we will look at the story of Ruth, whose story illustrates hardship, loyalty and courage but with a happy ending. She contributed to the genealogy of Jesus. If you have time to read the OT chapter in advance, it is quite short. With the help of Jan, we are also planning for our weekly meetings in Lent. June. ( or 07711 072233).
