Charles Watson Deceased.
You are all invited to sign the Book of Remembrance which will be in church today (Sunday) and then in the office next week. We are hoping to send it to Charles’ relatives in Georgia. I received the following email from the family in Georgia “We are very sorry that we couldn’t attend the funeral. We are shocked and saddened by uncle Charles loss. He was such a fine person. We will always remember him”. Rev Jan

Fundraising
Committee Report for Sunday 20th January 2019
Indoor Boot Fair
Tables at the Boot Fair are selling out fast! If you would like to hire one, it’s just £10.00, but you will need to hurry because they’ll soon be gone. If not, perhaps you would prefer just to come along and buy or browse, so put the date in your diary. The fair opens to the public at 9.00am on Saturday 26th January and refreshments will be available too, including delicious hot bacon rolls! It’s all to help support your church so the more backing we get, the better!
Tea and Beetle Drive
The Beetle Drive will now run on the afternoon of Tuesday 19th February, instead of 7th February as originally advertised. We changed the date to the half-term week so that families will be able to come to the event as well as older people so, if you or your family would like to take part in the games, please buy tickets (Adults £5, Children £3). There will be tea and cakes and a raffle as well, so it should be a fun afternoon. The Beetle Drive will start at 2.30pm and end at half past four, so the kids won’t be kept out too late!
Raffle Prizes
We have raffles at a lot of our fund raising events and we get through quite a lot of prizes. Raffles are good way of raising fund and most of those that we run are successful in doing just that. However, raffles need prizes if they are to be successful and we are running a bit short of them. So, if you have items that you can donate for us to use as prizes, it would be really helpful if you could bring them along to the Parish office. Anything unused will be welcome but, for the Beetle Drive at least, we need a few items suitable for children. Parents do like to buy tickets for their children and, if a little boy or girl should win, it wouldn’t go down well if we gave them a bottle of scotch or something! If you can help us with your usual generosity, we would be really grateful.
Monday Home Group
We reflect in music and word on the Bible readings heard in church the previous day. Meeting at 2:30pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, we welcome anyone who’d like to come, even as a one off: we finish at around 4pm with tea and biscuits. If you’d like to know more, please do phone us on 863293. Michael & Elspeth Cooke.
The Wednesday Home Group.
Our next meeting at St. Leu at 2.30 pm will be on February 6th, more details to follow soon. We welcome anyone who would like to join the group. If you have any questions, contact June, (01843 861286, ) or John, (07989857737).
