Christmas cards are now on sale on Sundays after the 8 o’clock and 9.30 services and in the Hall foyer. Orders for a larger number of cards can be made by contacting Jan Gee on 01843 862067. All proceeds are for much needed church funds. Thank you for your continued support in providing card fronts and cellophane bags.

Christmas Unwrapped. This year St Peters Junior School are coming to St Peter’s Baptist Church building for Christmas Unwrapped from 1 until 3pm on Friday 7th December. Bromstone School are also now coming on Tuesday 11th December from 1 until 3pm Again, this is something that has been a great way of all the churches in St Peters working together to share the Good News of Jesus with the community.  

We need people to help please between 12 & 3.30pm on the 7th December or/and 11th December to set-up/clear-away/talk with the children/make Teas & coffee for the staff etc. If you are able to help please let Maggie Paddison know, thank you. 

Churches together Carol singing: Please join us for carol singing at Tesco, Westwood Cross on Thursday 13th December, from 4:30 – 5:30pm. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to sing together with all churches in Broadstairs and St Peter’s. We will be collecting for the Thanet Winter Shelter.

Christmas Tree Festival 14th to 16th December

Your help is needed to welcome visitors to the church when it is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and if you are able to spare an hour (or even two)   please sign up on the lists by the South Door. Volunteers also required to set it all up on Thursday 13th December from 8.00 am and to be in the church while people decorate their trees during the day.  Any enquiries please contact Pauline Osborne Tel: 225801.

Christmas Tree Festival/ Thanet Community Gospel Choir Christmas Concert Saturday 15th December at 7.00 pm

Tickets are now available in the parish office or at the door on the day – £5 – for this popular event. Come and join this award-winning choir in singing some of the Christmas songs and carols while the lights on the trees twinkle all around. Mulled wine and mince pies will be available during the interval.

The Thanet Winter Shelter. Thank you for your generous donations of hats, socks, gloves, scarves, razors, hair brushes and toiletries. I have been well supplied for my trip to the Salvation Army. Please continue to help with all these items. We would also welcome adult colouring or puzzle books, coloured pencils, clean sheets and pillow cases, pillows and clean duvets and cleaning materials. Please leave in church or the parish office. If you need gifts to be collected, please email me,  or leave a message with Simon in the office. Thank you for getting this year’s Shelter off to a good start.

Indoor Boot Fair & ‘Tea and Beetle Drive’

Our first event for the New Year will be another Boot Fair on Saturday 26th January 2019 and after that, in a return to something we haven’t done for some time, there will be a ‘Tea and Beetle Drive’ event on Thursday 7th February. I hope that we can make 2019’s fund raising efforts as successful as those of this year and the more support we get the better more successful we’ll be so, if there is anything you can do to help, please let us know.

We start tomorrow looking at some of the great themes of the Advent season.  We warmly welcome anyone who’d like to join us for such times of stillness in what can otherwise seem a very busy season.
