South Door / Sidesman’s station we are pleased to advise you that we have received permission to re-organise the South door entrance. This will involve a new book storage cupboard positioned on the right of the door, and the removal of the present Sidesman’s station and cupboard on the left. This will give more room for chairs in the Lady Chapel, and storage for all the service books in one place. Work will start on this in the next month or so. Richard Baker, Chair Fabric Committee.

Thanet Winter Shelter. We will be collecting again for this very much needed Project and I will remind you nearer the time that the Shelter opens. If anyone is interested in volunteering or just learning more there is a volunteer information evening on 8th October at 7.30 pm at the Salvation Army, 167a High Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9TT.

The Card makers have had two Christmas card making sessions recently, with more to come. You are managing to keep us well supplied with card fronts and cellophane wrappers – thank you.  We have permission from Rev’d Jan and Pauline to sell Christmas cards at coffee time after the 9.30 Service. We will start this on the first Sunday in October. Cards of all varieties will continue to be sold in the foyer of the Church Hall. Jan Gee.

Christmas Tree Festival 2018

Would you, your business, you club or youth group like to be represented at this popular event which will be held this year from 14th to 16th December? Letters and sponsor forms will be sent this week to all those who have supported the event previously and we hope as many as possible will join us again this year but newcomers are always welcome. This year the theme is My Favourite Christmas Carol and as usual we only require a donation of at least £15 for the tree, one to one and a half metres high, which is yours to take home afterwards if you wish.

Enquiries: please contact Pauline Osborne tel 01843 225801, email  or call at the parish office for details.

Fundraising Committee Report for Sunday 7th October

Indoor Boot Fair – 22nd September A final comment about the boot fair held on 22nd September. Nineteen tables were sold and a total of £305.00 raised – a terrific result. Many thanks to everyone involved, especially those who laboured in the kitchen and produced (and sold) a lot of delicious bacon rolls. They were so popular that we’ll have to get in more supplies next time! Thanks again to everyone.

Choral Concert We suffered a late setback to yesterday’s Choral Concert in that, just last week, the Kent Show Choir had to drop out. However, the Gospel Choir were good enough to double up on their programme, so we were able to salvage the concert for all those who were looking forward to it. We don’t have the final figures yet, but I’ll let you know how much profit we brought in when we know the details.

Wine & Wisdom Don’t forget Jane Green’s superb Wine & Wisdom quiz, which will take place on the evening of Friday 2nd November, starting at 7.00pm for 7.30pm (prompt) in the Main Hall. Tickets are £7.50 each from the Parish Office (seating on tables of 8) and will include fish & chips delivered to your table, but bring your own cutlery and drinks!! There will also be a raffle. Tickets will be available soon from the Parish office so, if you are interested, put the date in your diary and bring your friends. It should be a great evening!

Indoor Boot Fair (another one!) One of the last fund raising events for 2018 will be an additional Boot Fair, this time with a Christmas theme, on Saturday 17th November so, if you would like to book a table for £10.00, or just to come along to browse, please note this date in your diary too. More details later.

The Festive Fayre Roger Waddell is beavering away organising the St. Peter’s Festive Fayre, which will take place on 24th November, so watch this space for details. Fund Raising 2019 Details of next year’s fund raising fun and games will appear here soon.

Monday Home Group 2:30pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, Broadstairs CT10 1RL

We spend about an hour reflecting on the Bible Readings heard the previous day in church, and follow this with tea and fellowship.  As each week is a therefore “stand-alone”, newcomers to the group are always most welcome.  We find it’s a good way of meeting informally for support and encouragement.  If you’d like to know more, please do phone Michael or Elspeth on 863293.

Wednesday Home Group

This will meet again on Wednesday 7th November,  2.30pm, at St Leu.
