South Door / Sidesman’s station we are pleased to advise you that we have received permission to re-organise the South door entrance. This will involve a new book storage cupboard positioned on the right of the door, and the removal of the present Sidesman’s station and cupboard on the left. This will give more room for chairs in the Lady Chapel, and storage for all the service books in one place. Work will start on this in the next month or so. Richard Baker, Chair Fabric Committee.
Thanet Winter Shelter. We will be collecting again for this very much needed Project and I will remind you nearer the time that the Shelter opens. If anyone is interested in volunteering or just learning more there is a volunteer information evening on 8th October at 7.30 pm at the Salvation Army, 167a High Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9TT.
There is a Stuart Townend Concert on 1st October at 7.30 pm in St. Luke’s Church, Ramsgate; tickets are £15. Stuart has composed hymns such as, “In Christ Alone”, “How deep the Father’s Love” and “The power of the cross”.
On 4th October, there is a meeting at St. Philip’s Church, Palm Bay, at 7 for 7.30 pm, looking forward to a Vision for Thanet and a Mission Week in 2020. I will be going. June Binfield.
The Card makers have had two Christmas card making sessions recently, with more to come. You are managing to keep us well supplied with card fronts and cellophane wrappers – thank you. We have permission from Rev’d Jan and Pauline to sell Christmas cards at coffee time after the 9.30 Service. We will start this on the first Sunday in October. Cards of all varieties will continue to be sold in the foyer of the Church Hall. Jan Gee.
Christmas Tree Festival 2018
Would you, your business, you club or youth group like to be represented at this popular event which will be held this year from 14th to 16th December? Letters and sponsor forms will be sent this week to all those who have supported the event previously and we hope as many as possible will join us again this year but newcomers are always welcome. This year the theme is My Favourite Christmas Carol and as usual we only require a donation of at least £15 for the tree, one to one and a half metres high, which is yours to take home afterwards if you wish.
Enquiries: please contact Pauline Osborne tel 01843 225801, email or call at the parish office for details.

Fundraising Committee Report for Sunday 30th September
Choral Concert at 7.30 pm
We have been notified (27th September 2018) unfortunately the Kent Show Choir are unable to attend, but the good news is that the Thanet Community Gospel Choir are going to provide an extended programme. The Concert starts at 7.30pm and be in two parts with an interval between, during which refreshments, including wine, will be available. All in all, the event seems set fair to be a very enjoyable evening for everyone so, if you haven’t booked your ticket yet, please do so a soon as you can. They are only £5.50 each and are available from the Parish office. Alternatively, you can pay at the door, but the ticket will then cost £6.00, so book early and save! I hope we will see you there.
Wine & Wisdom
On November 2nd, another of Jane Green’s superb Wine & Wisdom events will take place. It starts at 7.00pm in the Main Hall and tickets will be available soon from the Parish office so, if you are interested, put the date in your diary. Details are still being finalised, but the ticket price will include Fish & Chips, delivered to your table. Who could want more!
Indoor Boot Fair (another one!)
We have decided to run an additional Boot Fair, this time with a Christmas theme, on Saturday 17th November so, if you would like to book a table for £10.00, or just come along to browse. Table bookings now being taken in the Parish Office.
Monday Home Group 2:30pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, Broadstairs CT10 1RL
We spend about an hour reflecting on the Bible Readings heard the previous day in church, and follow this with tea and fellowship. As each week is a therefore “stand-alone”, newcomers to the group are always most welcome. We find it’s a good way of meeting informally for support and encouragement. If you’d like to know more, please do phone Michael or Elspeth on 863293.
Wednesday Home Group
We restart the Home Group on Wednesday 3rd October, 2.30pm, at St Leu.
Where Charles Watson will lead a discussion on Collects. Not just last Sundays, but Collects in general.
If you want to know more about this and perhaps would like to join us, please ring John Cox on 07989 057737.

We are always SO grateful for the cash donations given
each week at services.
If you are a tax payer it would be an even greater benefit
if you could put your donation in a completed yellow
Gift Aid envelope so that we can recover the extra 25p
in every pound given!
