ANNUAL PAROCHIAL MEETING

The Annual Meeting for St Peter’s church takes place today Sunday 29th April at 11am in the Main Hall. All are welcome to attend the meeting although only those members of the church electoral roll of the Parish or members of the local government register of electors by virtue of residence in the Parish can attend and vote. At this meeting, we will elect our two Churchwardens for the next year.

This will be followed by the ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING (APCM) at which we need to appoint four more members of the Parochial Church Council. This is a meeting only for those on the Church electoral roll of the Parish.

NOVENA Between Ascension Day and Pentecost (11th and 19th May) there are nine special days of prayer. The theme for these prayers is ‘changed lives – changing lives’ and they form part of ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ – the Diocesan initiative to encourage people to explore through prayer how they might witness to God’s life-changing work. There are booklets by the South Porch, so please do take one to guide your own personal prayers throughout this special time of prayer. Rev Jan

The Summer Fete. This is not far away (Sat 30 June) and various background preparations are being made. We very much need all those who kindly helped last year which was a great success and worked so well. Once Roger Waddell is back in UK he will hold a co-ord meeting in late May/early June, but please take it that your support would be most welcome as before.

The Fete Grand Raffle. Tickets are now being distributed with the latest Parish Magazine and will soon be generally available to all the congregation and beyond. The selling of these tickets is a vital part of our big effort at the Fete, so please do all you can to sell them and return the counterfoils to the office ASAP.

Chairman of the Fundraising Committee. Roy Brown is taking over at the end of April; may I wish him all the best and thank you all for your support! HMcG.

——————————–
We look forward to reflecting together for about an hour on different aspects of the Bible Readings heard in church the previous day, and then conclude with fellowship over a cup of tea.  As each session is a ‘stand-alone’, newcomers are warmly invited to join us – there’s no obligation to have to say anything, just bring a Bible (any version), and enjoy!  If you’d like to know more, do phone Michael & Elspeth Cooke on 863293.
