The Annual Meeting for St Peter’s church will take place in the Main Hall next Sunday 29th April at 11am.  All are welcome to attend the meeting although only those members of the church electoral roll of the Parish or members of the local government register of electors by virtue of residence in the Parish can attend and vote. At this meeting, we will elect our two Churchwardens for the next year.

This will be followed by the ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING (APCM) at which we need to appoint four more members of the Parochial Church Council. This is a meeting only for those on the Church electoral roll of the Parish. Please do consider standing for one of these posts – but each nomination must have a proposer and a seconder please. The necessary forms can be found by the South Porch. If you have any questions do please ask me. Rev’d Jan

The Agendas for both meetings along with the reports for the APCM, are by the South Porch. Please do take home and read.

House-to-house Collection 13-19 May

Thank you so much to those who have already volunteered for this vital task which can really make a difference to the lives of some of the world’s poorest communities.  We do, however, only cover a very few streets and urgently need new volunteers.  Please give prayerful thought to being part of this year’s team.  If you would like to help, please sign up on the list near the south door of the church.   Many thanks. Elspeth Cooke (863293)

Wine & Wisdom. At the time of writing, this event was soon to take place, but nevertheless a great deal of background work e.g. the booking arrangements by Simon in the office and the question preparation by Jane Green, have all been going on. With a total of 13 tables competing it is likely to have been a good evening. A big thank you to all concerned.

The next Wine & Wisdom is on 2 November.

Wanted! Raffle prizes for this event. It is a long time since we have asked for donations, so please search for unwanted gifts, spare (full!) bottles and any good quality items for the event below. Please take any donations to the Parish Office on any weekday morning-and while you are there, book your place too.

Have YOU booked yet!?

Friday 18 May 3pm Talk. Booking is going well, but as places are limited to 50; don’t delay securing your seat! ‘The wonders of Chocolate revealed!’ by Carl Whitewood, with samples (!), followed by a raffle and a very special Tea. Tickets only £7 -the equivalent in Fortnum & Mason is over £50 and that’s just for the tea!

Monday Home Group – 2:30 pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, Broadstairs CT10 1RL

We look forward to reflecting together for about an hour on different aspects of the Bible Readings heard in church the previous day, and then conclude with fellowship over a cup of tea.  As each session is a ‘stand-alone’, newcomers are warmly invited to join us – there’s no obligation to have to say anything, just bring a Bible (any version), and enjoy!  If you’d like to know more, do phone Michael & Elspeth Cooke on 863293.
