Last Sunday, we were given a most enlightening talk about the work of ‘Thanet Winter Shelter’ which is overseen by the Salvation Army. This is a cause that we have supported for the past two years with gifts of various goods needed and it was heartening to hear that such items are so welcome.

The collection raised an amazing £214.82 which will enable us to send a donation of £110 each to Thanet Winter Shelter and Porchlight. Thank you, Robin Page, Treasurer.

Your PCC are applying for a faculty to remove the sidesman’s workstation and cupboard by the South door, and replace it with a cupboard to house all the books.

The Public notice is displayed in the porch, the outer porch and on the notice board by the halls.

Details of the application, and plans of the new cupboard are available in the church office.

If anyone wishes to discuss the plans, please see either Rev’d Jan or Richard Baker.

Easter Lilies If you would like to donate £2.50 for a lily stem, in memory of a loved one, which will be used in our Easter Church flower decorations. Please put your donation in an envelope with the name clearly of the person(s) to be remembered on the outside of the envelope and hand it into the parish Office (outside office hours can be placed in Main Hall letterbox). The list of names will be on the altar for our services on Easter Sunday.

Monday @ 7. Our next event is on Monday 12th March at 21 Fig Tree Road, 7 for 7.30pm, where Rev Jan will be giving us a talk.  Please let me know whether you are coming or not, on Tel 604524, or email  Thank you. Marion Brown.

Easter Cracked for St.Peter’s Juniors will be held at St. Peter’s Baptist Church on the afternoon of Friday 23rd March. Helpers are needed from midday for preparation and prayer and should be finished by 3.30pm. If you can help, please contact Maggie Paddison:  Thank you. Rev Jan

Archbishop’s Holy Week Mission – Transformed by hope

The Archbishop of Canterbury together with The Community of St Anselm (COSA), will be spending Holy Week in the Thanet Deanery.

There are some key events which are open to all namely:-

Monday Home Group – 2:30 pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, Broadstairs

We continue to meet as usual on Mondays, and during Lent we are reflecting each week on one of the characters who encountered Jesus during Holy Week – 8 people including the Servant Girl, Barabbas, The Roman Centurion, Pilate’s wife, the Best Friend, the Thief.   We shall do this by watching each week a 14-minute video (from a BBC/Bible Society collaboration) featuring a top rate actor providing a thought-provoking vignette as they reflect on their motivations and what happened.  With the award-winning series prompting reviews such as “perfectly portrayed, with a twist” (The Sunday Telegraph), “powerful and passionate … intense and absorbing” (Evening Standard) – please do think of coming and joining us – even for just one session.  More details from Michael & Elspeth Cooke, 863293.

Wednesday Home Group

The Wednesday Home Group meetings during Lent will be at St Leu at 2.30 pm on Wednesdays 21st and 28th March.
