HOLY WEEK: ‘Transformed by Hope’ This Holy Week, Thanet Deanery will be holding a Mission Week. The theme for the week is ‘Transformed by Hope’ and we will be joined by members of The Community of St Anselm. The Broadstairs Group of churches has been asked if we can host 4 of these members, possibly in two homes. If this is something you would like to do, and have the space, please would you get in touch with The Rev’d Jan Durrans (01843 869169 or ). Thank you.

The friends of St. Peter’s & St. Andrew’s in Thanet At the last committee meeting it was decided that as each church now has it’s own fund raising team and objective, the fund raising activities of the Friends should cease temporarily and the charity should lay ‘dormant’, meeting only to consider grants applications or to receive bequests.  In this situation it was thought unreasonable to ask Friends to renew their subscription and for those who pay by Standing Order to arrange cancellation.

We now are raising funds for the Garden of Remembrance and we need YOUR help!

Talk & Tea – A big thank you to all who helped set up, Margaret Ovenden for her enlightening and entertaining talk and to the wonderful team who prepared and served the special tea. It is hoped to announce the amount raised in Church.

Monday Home Group – 2:30 pm at 92 Dumpton Park Drive, Broadstairs

We continue to meet as usual on Mondays, and during Lent we are reflecting each week on one of the characters who encountered Jesus during Holy Week – 8 people including the Servant Girl, Barabbas, The Roman Centurion, Pilate’s wife, the Best Friend, the Thief.   We shall do this by watching each week a 14-minute video (from a BBC/Bible Society collaboration) featuring a top rate actor providing a thought-provoking vignette as they reflect on their motivations and what happened.  With the award-winning series prompting reviews such as “perfectly portrayed, with a twist” (The Sunday Telegraph), “powerful and passionate … intense and absorbing” (Evening Standard) – please do think of coming and joining us – even for just one session.  More details from Michael & Elspeth Cooke, 863293.

Wednesday Home Group

The Wednesday Home Group meetings during Lent will be at St Leu at 2.30 on Wednesdays 28th Feb, 7th March, 21st March and 28th March.
