 PERSONNEL

As we approach the Annual Parochial Church Meeting which will be held at the end of April we need to find someone to be the Chair of the Halls Committee and we also need a new Church Warden. If you are interested in filling either of these positions or can suggest someone you feel may be suitable please do come and talk to me. Many thanks Rev Jan

HOLY WEEK: ‘Transformed by Hope’

This Holy Week, Thanet Deanery will be holding a Mission Week involving all the parishes in the Deanery in some way. The theme for the week is ‘Transformed by Hope’ and we will be joined by members of The Community of St Anselm. This community, consisting of young Christians aged between 18 and 35 is based (at the invitation of The Archbishop of Canterbury) at Lambeth Palace. During their week with us, they will be involved in helping lead worship and various other activities which are being planned, (details of which will be published shortly.)

The Broadstairs Group of churches has been asked if we can host 4 of these members, possibly in two homes. If this is something you would like to do, and have the space please would you get in touch with The Rev’d Jan Durrans (01843 869169 or ). Thank you

MESSAGE FROM BISHOP TREVOR

‘It is with grave concern that I write to you with news from our sister Church in Madagascar. In the last two weeks, Tropical Cyclone Ava has caused huge devastation on the islands, with an estimated 54,000 people displaced by flooding, heavy rain and high winds. Many homes and buildings have collapsed or been badly damaged, with at least 16 schools completely destroyed. Some towns remain flooded and the phone network is down, which makes communicating with those in the most vulnerable places extremely difficult.  People need food, clothes and building materials.”  There is a bucket by the door if you would like to donate anything to this appeal. Thank you

The Winter Shelter.

Please continue to bring your gifts. Next week I would welcome lavatory paper and cleaning products to help the church halls used as overnight shelters and of course any warm socks and other suitable clothing.  Thank you, June.

Monday @ 7.

Our next event is lunch at The Racing Greyhound, Dumpton, on Monday 19th February, at 1pm.  We need to prebook, and I have menus which I will forward to each of you, either by email, or I will phone you if you have no email.   I do need to know very soon if you will be coming and your choice of food.  Please contact me on , or tel 604524. Thanks Marion Brown
