INVITATION: Come and Sing! No audition required. Rehearsals will be in church Fridays 7.15-8.00pm. Contact: Patrick Dunn.

Christmas Cards The card making group are grateful to those who have donated the fronts of birthday cards and cellophane bags. Now after Christmas if you have any suitable Christmas card fronts with small designs on them please donate them via the church office. We will continue to also need your donations of birthday and other card fronts. Many thanks for your continuing support. Jan Gee.

Christmas party Night on Saturday 16 December. This event was great fun, well attended and raised £647, so thank you all who helped in various ways. As a result, the balance in the Fundraising Account is just short of £7,000 and this is after having largely financed the works carried out in the main hall. Funds raised now are going towards the £13,000+ needed to refurbish the Garden of Remembrance.

Since the Fundraising Appeal was launched in April 2014, not counting the Heritage Lottery Grant for the Tower, £143,414 has been raised mainly by events and grants.  The Home Boxes have raised £5,655 and sales of books and plants in the Foyer £481, and Recipe books £903. The events programme brings in an annual income of approximately £15,000-£17,000 per annum.

Our first event in 2018 is an Indoor Boot Fair on Sat 27 January.  Tables are still available for hire NOW (£10) and also for the similar events on Saturdays 17 February and 17 March.

Another diary date. On Thursday 22 February at 3pm our local and amusing raconteuse, Margaret Ovenden will once again delight us with one of her amusing and informative talks, ‘A Bountiful Banker: Angela Burdett-Coutts’, after which there will be a delicious and special tea and a raffle. Bookings will be available soon, but when available, don’t delay as there is a limited capacity.  So first come, first served!

 “LOOSE” Change Home collection boxes

Another big THANK YOU to all who continue to support this scheme. So far this year, very quietly, almost £1,000 has been received for fund raising from this source and the overall total is just short of £5,500. Can I encourage you to keep filling your boxes and emptying them in the office for me to count. I have a few spare boxes if anyone wants to start. Also (Cheekily) what better way to get rid of your old £1 coins to a worthwhile cause – improving your own Church buildings. Just put them in your box or if you don’t have one hand them into the office. I can then Bank them to credit the FR a/c. Many thanks Don B.

 Monday Home Group

We resume meeting weekly at 2:30 pm on Mondays (starting on 15th January) at the home of Elspeth and Michael Cooke (92 Dumpton Park Drive, Broadstairs).  We shall be reflecting on the Bible Readings heard in church the previous day.  Anyone is welcome to join us, even for a one-off.  If you want to know more, do phone us on 863293.

Wednesday Home Group

We resume meeting again on Wednesday when we will discuss the previous Sunday’s sermon (or perhaps think about resolutions!).
